Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game

This is a suprisingly good game with a lot of playability. You sit opposite your opponent and choose who will play as the Rebels and who will play as the Empire. The idea is to destroy your opponent bases before they destroy your There will be a mixed game deck which you will draw ten play cards for the middle as your starter, this includes Imperial cards, Rebel cards and Neutral cards. The cards are placed so that the Imperial cards face the Empire player, the Rebel cards face the rebel player and the neutral cards face neither. so that the cards can be read by the correct player. You each have your own start deck with some basic cards in them.

No Star Wars Game would be complete without the Force. The balance of the Force is represented by a track, which starts on the Rebel’s side however the Empire gets to take the first turn so it may not stay there for long. If at the beginning of your turn the Force is completely on your side you get an additional resource to use for that turn.

The cards have their own flavour text as well as what their attack and/or what their draw totals are. There are also other abilities as well but they are witten on the card and easy to understand. You can buy cards to add to your discard pile, or destroy cards from the line up to stop your oppoonent from using them. You can also get Capital ships which you can use to protect your bases. These also can have special rules on them, just follow the rules and enjoy.

This game has the right feel for Star Wars! Hopefully there willl be more cards and faction packs as well coming from Fantasy Flight Games. but whatever happens this is a very fun and easy to play game. Enjoy.
