Flamecraft is one of the surprise games over the last few years and now there is an amazing new expansion out for it. This adds five new modules that can be added to your game, although I recommend only adding one or two to begin with, as it starts getting very complex otherwise.
First up is the Hydragons module which introduces 15 “dual” Hydragons, each with a completely unique “fire up” ability. To play, you simply shuffle a team of 6 of these directly into your artisan dragon deck. Next up is the Dragons starter shop which is a new courtyard starter shop where your dragons are “dual-ing”. This gives you something different to your standard starting setup.
There’s the Upscale Cards Module featuring 18 cards that offer a brand-new way to enchant. The central Elder statue gets “glittered” with these Upscales, thus allowing you to gift goods and coins during an Enchant action to claim extra magical rewards. Then the new companion dragons, these 6 wander into town looking for a buddy, allowing you to expand your pool of specialized rule-bending assistants.
Finally there are Adventurer Dragons, these 7 new artisan dragons are added to the deck (6 of these are classic adventure-themed artisans and 1 who is too fancy for standard work.) As well as these 5 modules there is the “Parks and Crafts” mat which is a new neoprene park mat that introduces a rule modification letting dragons “fire up” once per turn while hanging out in the park.
As you can add these modules in any combination this gives you a lot more options when playing the game (31 by my calculations provided you are brave enough to play with 3, 4 or even all 5 modules!)
