Easy to learn and quick to play. Ticket to ride: First Journey is the perfect introduction to the Ticket to Ride series. Players collect train cards, claim routes on the map and try to connect the cities shown on their tickets to achieve victory. So climb aboard and embark on your very own railway adventure!
In general, players collect train cards, claim routes on the map, and try to connect the cities shown on their tickets. In more detail, the game board shows a map of the United States with certain cities being connect by coloured paths. Each player starts with four coloured train cards in hand and two tickets; each ticket shows two cities, and you’re trying to connect those two cities with a contiguous path of your trains in order to complete the ticket.
So far it sounds just like the normal Ticket to Ride, however, in this simpler version the furthest distance between two cities is just 3 trains. Also each player has just twenty trains. Finally there is no complicated scoring system it is simply whoever has completed the most tickets at the end of the game wins. The game ends either with the first player to complete six tickets, in which case they win or if someone has placed all twenty of their trains on the game board, then whoever has completed the most tickets wins!
The first player to complete six tickets wins! Alternatively, if someone has placed all twenty of their trains on the game board, then whoever has completed the most tickets wins! Ticket to Ride First Journey can be played with 2-4 players ages 6 years or older within an estimated duration of 15-30 minutes. Available here.
