Wave 5 Ships for Star Trek Attack Wing Miniatures

Star Trek Attack Wing Miniatures Wave 5 Expansion Ships available from Board Game ExtrasWatch out for the Borg! They feature along with Bajoran and Vulcan ships in the Wave 5 expansion packs for Star Trek Attack Wing Miniatures board game. There is no need to have any of the ships from the previous Wave expansion packs. These ships, as per previous expansion packs, enable you to expand the gameplay with new captains (such as the Borg Queen!) and upgrade cards. As well as more ways to customise your attacking and defending options with a variety of weapons, shields, manoeuvres and other features as you play out new missions.

Just as you can with previous expansions – you are able to mix and match ships with different captains, where for instance you could have a Borg ship with a Vulcan captain!! That certainly mixes things up, making them more interesting and fun when playing with friends. These ships can either be controlled by 1 player on each side, or players can team up controlling one or more ships each, thus allowing more people to join the action.

There are 3 packs in the Wave 5 expansion each with their own unique abilities and key features:

  • Star Trek Wave 5 Borg CubeBorg Tactical Cube 138 – the dreaded Borg cube ship punching much heavier fire power than their own Spheres and many other rival ships. Plus extensive hull armour making it very tricky to cause damage. This Cube features the legendary Borg Queen as well as Tactical Drones as captains. If you were able to penetrate the armour and cause sufficient damage, the Borg Queen has the capability to transfer to another Borg ship – making her a very tricky adversary to face!
  • Star Trek Wave 5 Vulcan DkyrVulcan D’Kyr – is a Vulcan Confederacy combat crusier starship with a wide front firing arc. There are also secondary weapons – Photonic Weapon and the rear based Aft Paritcle Beam. These ships heavily featured on the side of the Coalition of Planets allies during the Earth-Romulan War. This ship features Soval, Muroc, Tavek and T’Pol as captains, each with other own unique abilities for scanning & detecting ships, disabling shields or revealing cloaked ships.
  • Star Trek Wave 5 Bajoran InterceptorBajoran Intercaptor 5 – known as Bajoran Impulse ships are sublight interceptors used by the Bajoran Miltia, as featured in the Deep Space 9 series. These are highly manoeuvrable, quick moving ships with 2 phaser emitters; albeit they’re lightly armoured. This ship has towing facilities, which may come in handy on some missions. Lenaris Holem and Hazar feature as Bajoran captains. There is limited room for crew, just 1 crew member only from a choice of 2 – Neela or Anara. Here you’ll need to think tactically as to which crew member would benefit you most. Neela brings offensive advantages in causing critical damage to rival ships, whereas Anara brings defensive advantages in being able to repair Hull damage. Can be quite a conundrum to decide and may come with experience once played with this ship a few times.

The Borg ship alone makes this Wave 5 expansion quite an exciting one to consider and bring further life to Star Trek Attack Miniatures. Each expansion ship can be purchased separately so you can just buy your favourite ones – available here. Alternatively you can buy all 3 together at a reduced overall price.

Note the original starter set is required to play this game.
