In the Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures game recreate exciting pivotal battles in the Star Wars universe. This is a 2 player tactical ship-to-ship combat game, where players are squadron leaders either taking control of the powerful Rebel X-Wings or the nimble Imperial TIE fighters. Players face each other in fast-paced space combat battles throughout several scenarios. You select your crew, plan your manoeuvres and fly your missions! If you’re the rebels, you can even select Luke Skywalker to have the force on your side as well! 
The powerful Rebel X-Wings, Incom Corporation T-65, feature high-powered laser cannons, proton torpedo launchers and a reinforced titanium-alloy hull allowing them to take on the might of the Galactic Empire. Whereas the Imperial TIE fighters, Sienar Fleet Systems, are much more lightweight and nimble but don’t have quite the same firepower. However they do work better together in numbers to overpower those they’re fighting so be warned rebel fighters to not be caught outnumbered!
Each ship type has its own unique piloting dial, where you would secretly select a speed and manoeuvre each turn trying to outfox your opponents. Once selected each player reveals their ship’s dial and plays out their move using the manoeuvre template guide. 
After all the ships have moved, you can then determine attacks against your opponents that are within range. This allowing you through-out the game to make decisions that will have real impact on your space combat battles, whether a full out attack or looking to pull off clever moves whilst locking an opponent in your targeting sights or advanced evasive techniques, Koiogran turn!
There are 3 missions each having their own set of victory conditions and special rules. Each mission is quite different and will require pilots to be versatile in employing a range of tactics, if to emerge on the winning side. There is quite a range of customisation to the options and different flight moves and combat outcomes to ensure no mission will ever be played the same way twice. Thus allowing you to play the game several times with friends and each time the gameplay working out differently.
On the combat outcomes, dice rolls take place to determine whether you have taken on damage. If so you then take a damage card to determine the amount of damage done, which may lead to a special handicap. This could be, for example, damage to your piloting system, to your firing weapons or even to the pilot himself, severely limiting combat manoeuvres.
This game comes as a core set including everything you need to kick off the game – scenarios, cards and ships. For fans of Star Wars, the miniature ships are well detailed, fully assembled and painted. The rules are deliberately styled to be quick to learn and allow you over time to expand the game with your favourite ships and characters from the Star Wars universe. The game is aimed for ages 14 upwards and can be played in approx. 30 mins.
